1. TWU is a Tom Welling appreciation site. No bashing of Tom will be permitted. It’s fine to post constructive criticism of Tom’s fictional characters, or any fictional character. However, name-calling or using derogatory terms to describe any person, character , and/or fan groups of any character is not allowed. Although TWU is not a shipper site, all shipper fans of any of Tom's fictional characters are welcome.

2. TWU is focused on Tom’s career and we are respectful of his private life. Please don’t post and ask information about his family, unless it’s in relation to a public appearance. Tom's personal life and family are off limits. Please don't discuss these topics, including any online rumors. The only exception will be when specific threads are opened by TWU staff to celebrate milestones in Tom's life, such as Birthdays or Anniversaries.

3. Please be respectful of others. Everyone has the right to their own perspective and this must be respected by other members. It's okay to disagree with someone's post and to respond in a respectful manner. All discussion must be focused on the topic of the thread, and not focused on other people's comments. For more information about this, click HERE. If you have a problem with another person’s post, report it to the Mod of that forum. If you have a personal issue, please take it to Private Messages (PM’s).

4. Don’t post back-to-back within a 24-hour period. That is double-posting and is a form of spamming. Of course, you may edit your original post by clicking on the “edit” button in the bottom right-hand corner of the post. Spamming also includes posting random comments in forums, all within a few minutes time.

5. All posts should be relevant and on-topic for each forum. The Off-topic forum is the place to discuss off-topic subjects, and also any topics unrelated to Tom Welling.

6. If you want to share any info or photos found at TWU at other forums, then please credit TWU for the info, and provide a link back to TWU.

7. If any member of TWU staff edits your post, don’t remove the comments. That helps to provide guidance for both you and for other members too. If you have any questions about a mod edit, please feel free to pm the Mod of that particular forum

8. This is an English-speaking forum; all posts must be in English. Single generic words such as merci, gracias, etc., will be allowed, but full posts and phrases in any language other than English will be deleted or edited.

9. No solicitations are allowed. All posters are not allowed to use TWU in order to advertise or sell any product or service, or to try to promote their own personal websites.

10. Please don't post information on how to download illegal or pirated software or files, or post links to illegal or pirated software or files. It's also against policy to discuss or to provide links to download entire movies or TV episodes (including Smallville episodes). The exception would be discussion of official sites that have episodes available for viewing online, like the CW website.

11. Members are not allowed to promote other websites by providing links in either their signatures or in their member profiles. Links to personal LJ's are allowed.

12. Please do not re-post images when quoting,unless they are no longer visible on the page. Including the images in your reply slows down the loading of the pages for some of our members.

13. Fanarts and/or manipulated photos of Tom can only be posted in the Fanarts forum.

 

1. Only pictures that include Tom are appropriate for our Photos Forum. If you wish to share photos that don't include Tom, then please do so in our Off-Topic Forum.

2. The amount of full-size photos and thumbnails that can be shared in any specific post will be specified, according to the thread topic. Please read the first post of each topic in the Photos Forum for more information.

3. Double-posting (posting back-to-back) is allowed in our Screencaps sub-forum ONLY. A maximum of 3 full sized images OR 12 thumbnails per post is allowed, with a maximum of 3 posts at a time. You must then wait for someone else to comment, or 24 hrs. to post more.

4. The maximum size for photos is 650 pixels wide by 600 pixels high. Please resize larger images or provide either a thumbnail or a link to the photo.

5. Give credit when possible for all photos. If anyone has an issue with a photo that is shared, contact a Photos Forum Mod. There may be instances when TWU Staff need to remove/edit photos that are not allowed to be reposted at TWU.

6. Please host images yourself and don’t hotlink. Some good free hosting sites include Photobucket and Imageshack.

7. No pornographic images are allowed.

8. Candid pics of Tom at public events are allowed. All other candid photos must be submitted to TWU staff prior to posting. The images will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, in line with our policy of respecting Tom’s privacy. If the candid pics are then posted, proper credit will be given. Images of Tom’s wife and/or family are not allowed on this site. The only exception to this rule is if they are with Tom, attending a public event, such as The Cheaper by the Dozen premiere.

1. Only fanarts which feature Tom Welling or any of his fictional characters can be shared at TWU.

2. No fanarts may feature Tom and any member of his family.

3. In addition, no “real life” pairings are allowed with Tom and his fellow actors (Tomerica, Kristom, etc). There’s a difference with sharing fanarts that feature “shipper couples” involving fictional characters (Clois, Chlark, Clana) and real life relationships.

4.  A maximum 20 fanart items are allowed in a post.

5.  Do not double-post, even in your own art album. Please wait for someone to comment, or for a 24-hr period to post more fanarts.

6. Please post only fanarts that you have created. Do not repost others’ fanarts without their permission. And, if you do get their permission, please credit them. All fanarts are unique creations and are considered the property of the creators. Please do not edit other’s fanarts.

7. Please ask permission, before using fanarts created by others in your signature. And, again, please credit for the fanarts. You may ask directly in the thread when commenting, or you can send a request by PM to the artist.

9. Only those candid images of Tom that are featured on this site may be used in artwork posted here. All candid images that are permitted are featured in our Gallery and/or our Candid Images of Tom thread. Any art containing other candid images will be removed.

10. Be respectful of Tom Welling with your artwork. Please do not bash Tom or any of his fictional characters and no pornographic or graphic violent images are permitted.

15. Fanarts that include spoiler images need to be posted in our spoiler fanarts thread. If you post spoiler fanarts in other threads, please use the spoiler tag feature. This gives members the option of viewing the spoiler images. Definition: Spoiler images are promotional images from upcoming episodes and images taken from unaired online trailers. Once an episode has aired in the U.S., then any images from that episode are no longer considered to be spoilers. Trailer caps aired on TV are not considered spoilers.

16. Here are the guidelines for Signatures: a) Must not contain any images of Tom's family, unapproved candid images, spoilers, bashing, sex, or graphic violence. b) May contain more than one image; however, the maximum signature dimension is 600 pixels wide x 250 pixels high. This total dimension incudes EVERYTHING in your signature - any images, text, spacing, links, etc. c) The total size of the images in your signature can't exceed 0.5MB (524288bytes/512kbs) when combined. 

1. Only fanvideos which feature Tom Welling or any of his fictional characters are allowed.

2. No fanvideos are allowed that feature Tom’s wife, Jamie, or any member of his family.

3. The FanVideos Forum is organized by two different types of threads: personal fanvideo albums and themed video threads. Each member is welcome to open a thread to share personal fanvideos (personal fanvideo album). In addition, each member is welcome to post in our separate themed fanvideo threads, such as: Hot Clark/Tom Moments, Heroic Clark, etc. It's okay to share some of the same fanvideos in both types of threads.

4. Please share only fanvideos that you have created. Do not post fanvideos that have been created by other members without their permission. If you do get their permission to repost them, then please credit them!

5. Do not edit any fanvideos created by other members. All fanvideos are unique creations and are the property of their owners.

6. Please don't post information on how to download pirated or illegal software or files. Also, you may not post links to pirated or illegal software or file.

7. There's no size limit for embedded videos. However, the maximum allowed size for videos that need to be downloaded is 100mb. 

1. Fanfics must focus on one of Tom's fictional characters that he has portrayed in his career, and can involve other characters as well. Tom's fictional characters include: Rob Meltzer from Judging Amy; Clark Kent/Kal/Kal-El from Smallville; Charlie Baker from both Cheaper by The Dozen movies; and Nick Castle from The Fog. The Fanfics can focus primarily on one of Tom’s fictional characters, and/or can involve other characters as well.

2. No fanfics involving Tom's personal life are allowed to be posted. In addition, no fanfics involving any real person (RP fanfics) are allowed either.

3. We also welcome all shipper-related fanfics with Tom’s fictional characters, too. These include: Clois; Clana; Chlark; Calicia; Clex; Clark/Lori Lemaris; Nick Castle/Elizabeth, etc.

4. There should be one thread for each fanfic. The only time you should start a new thread is if you are posting a sequel or a new fanfic.

5. Fanfic threads may go for 650 posts, which is about 26 pages. After that, a new thread must be created. Also, it's okay to post back-to-back, in order to share multiple chapters of your fanfic in this forum. In the other forums, posting back-to-back is considered to be spamming and is not allowed.

6. No plagiarism is allowed. Plagiarize: to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own; to commit literary theft. Only post your own work. If you are co-writing a fanfic with someone, be sure to list both authors.

7. No bashing of characters/ships, etc., is allowed in any Fanfiction. Name-calling or using derogatory terms to describe a character is not allowed.

8. You are not allowed to link to a fanfic or story posted on another message board.
