The Treachery of Compromise brings Tom Welling back after a successful three episode story arc for Judging Amy. For the character of Rob Meltzer, Lauren's karate instructor, this is episode number 4. Amy previously chose an older man to be with, but the man went back to his ex-wife. Amy shows up at Rob's doorstep to rekindle the affair asking for no strings.
The Good
Tom's Performance: Even though Tom was only in one scene of this episode, his performance is flawless. He opens the door and is genuinely surprised to see Amy there. This scene shows Tom as the natural actor he is without experience or training.
Tom's way of responding to Amy's request without using words made my heart drop to my knees. He is just too sexy and his part of the kiss was classic Tom Welling! Very sexy and swoon worthy! This was an excellent scene for him even though he only had a few words to say in the beginning. It showed his amazing potential to just be in a scene and act.
The Bad
Amy: I can't believe she (the character, Amy) was stupid enough to break up with him in the first place! Amy seemed stiff when Tom embraced her and seemed reluctant to respond. It appeared to be the actress uncomfortable, not the character.
I give 'The Treachery of Compromise' 4 out of 5 stars.
