This was a great episode. It had a perfect balance of lighthearted humor and intrigue.

The Good

The comedy and interaction between Clark and Chloe. The teasing camaraderie between these two was truly joyful to watch. The chemistry between these two actors was very evident in this episode.

Sick Clark. This was so cute. Clark with the sneezing and sniffles was just too hard to resist. Tom did very well with acting like someone with an annoying cold. When Lois came home after almost being hit with the barn door, it was quite endearing how Clark and Martha tried to get her off the trail.

Clark's guilt over not listening to Jor-El. Jor-El has gotten a bad rap in Smallville since Clark first found out about him. Now, it looks like Clark thinks he may have been wrong about Jor-El. It will be interesting to see where the writers take this. The superhero feels responsible for what has happened on earth. After all, this is his home. I loved the fact that Clark has been helping to rebuild the city all night. The comment on the TV about how amazingly fast the clean up was taking place after 'Dark Thursday' was a nice touch.

It was great to see a teasing, playful Clark after all the tragedy that has happened in the last few episodes.

The Lionel and Oliver scene was well done. Justin Hartley held his own with John Glover. It was very evident these two had a history and Oliver definitely has his own agenda.

The special effects for the super breath! Well done in the private eyes office, in the warehouse saving Lex and Lana and in the barn when he blew the clouds away.

Chloe's reference to Superman's lung capacity was wonderful along with her priceless, "Huff and Puff and blow the door down."

Very nice touch when Clark's super hearing was a little warbled when he was listening to Lana's phone call. His ears were stopped up, after all.

A couple of new story lines were set up that could continue in future episodes. Of course, Oliver Queen and the kidnapper getting injected with the serum. That is a FOW waiting to happen.

Clark saving Lex and Lana yet again and neither of them knowing it. The true markings of a super hero!

Lionel showed genuine interest in the welfare of Clark and the protection of his secret when he came to him to tell him Lex had been kidnapped. Lionel intrigues me, as you can never decide whether he is good or bad.

The Bad

Lois' interest in journalism so suddenly, just because of a falling barn door seemed a little contrived and forced to me. It was too quickly done and should have taken a couple of episodes. Isn't she Martha's chief of staff as well?

So, how many times has Lex been shot?

Lana forgiving Lex for invading her privacy so easily. Seemed a little out of character, as she is so unforgiving of Clark at this time.

The kidnapping of Lex with Lana coming to the rescue. This after she knows he is spying on her. Why does she go alone? Not a smart move.

I give 'Sneeze' 4 3/4 out of 5 stars.
