This episode was far better than I thought it would be. For a Lex-centric episode, it was particularly meaty in the scenes with Clark. It laid the groundwork for future episodes as well as gave us an insight into the past of Oliver and Lex.

The Good

Clark and Chloe: They only had two scenes together, but as always these two were amazing. Their first scene in the episode with Martha was very 'picturesque family' and showed how much these characters have grown to love each other. The conversation was enjoyable about the 'Zoners' and Chloe being on the inside circle. Very well done. The last scene was priceless with Chloe's obvious interest in Oliver's attractiveness. She was so cute and Clark's reaction was wonderful as well. Chloe makes Clark laugh and that is important. He doesn't take things nearly as seriously when she is by his side.

Clark and Lois: This season, these two have really changed their relationship. There is still the bickering, but it is less and there is almost a grudging respect for each other. They are truly evolving into friends. The backhanded comfort and support Lois gave Clark after his run in with Lex at the hospital was very well done. The fact that Lois is on Clark's side and doesn't think that it is his fault that Lana is dating Lex says a lot for her friendship with Clark. The investigative reporting that caused them both to end up meeting each other at the hospital where Duncan was kept was a picture of things to come. The excuse Clark used for his sudden departure was classic Superman! Lois' response to Clark's defense of Oliver keeping secrets (as well as himself) was funny and totally Lois.

Clark and Oliver: The chemistry between these two is amazing. It is very evident that they respect each other and are slowly growing into reluctant friends. Oliver is not a carbon copy of Clark and it makes them interesting with the way they each see the world and how to help people. The dialogue between these two shows their differences as well as how much alike they really are. The pacemaker joke was cute...Clark's response of...I'm laughing on the inside to be followed by Oliver's...Maybe one day it will bubble up...was great comedy. The background on Oliver in this episode definitely shows how Oliver could think the way that he does, in contrast, Clark's moral standards he inherited from his parents is very much in the forefront when these two interact.

Clark and Lionel: Lionel has once again made us wonder whose side he is really on! Lionel's reactions to Clark are very different then when he is with Lex. Interesting difference. What is that man up to?

Clark and Lex: Lex's taunt when he opened the door so that Clark could have a glimpse of Lana and rubbing his nose in the fact that Lana belongs to Lex.

Reference to Batman.

The young actors who played Lex and Oliver did a marvelous job. It was amazing to see the differences between these two 'silver-spoon' kids. The evidence of Lex's darkness and his easy turn on a 'friend' was scary. It makes me glad that Clark never told Lex his secret. To get on top, Lex would have eventually used it against Clark.

Filming and special effects were good in this episode.

The Bad

Matching dress and tie on Lana and Lex at the reunion. A little much.

The hospital scene was not one of my favorites between Clark, Lex and Lana. It was too much a repeat of Season 4 with Jason in Pariah. That was until Lois was in the picture.

Lana gets another head injury. That girl should be comatose by now.

Meteor-rock freak.

I give 'Reunion' 4 out of 5 stars.
